The pictures are self-explanatory...with the exception of Sol holding one very large molar that really should have been nestled between his other teeth until he turned 11 or 12. OK, here's that story. We brought Townsend home on Friday, January 7 around 1:30 in the afternoon. Aside from us thinking that it's much easier to take home a baby from the hospital in Northern California weather - not wintry cold Wisconsin, everything went great. We got home & put our bags, stacks of papers, balloons, coats and hats, etc in a corner heap. We kicked off our shoes and nestled in....home. We thought all we had to decide on in the next couple of hours was which of us was going to shower first. Wrong.
As we were sitting around the baby poposan taking pictures and gawking at our precious boy, Sol lifts up his lip to reveal his "still kinda swollen gums." OH MY GAWD.....there on his gums was a pebble-sized bump all pus-filled and gross that Sol had "noticed a couple days ago." Ack! A quick call to the dentist sent Greg flying to the shower and 15 minutes later they were off to see what was the matter.
I happened to miss the text messages coming in a while later. In retrospect I am glad I missed them because had I known that Sol was having to undergo 'emergency tooth extraction' I would have flown down there myself.
He came home a bit later looking zombie-like. He had an infected tooth removed and an abscess drained...all with just a bit of Novocaine. Poor Sol!!
He's fine now, in fact, he was fine later that night after getting as much chocolate pudding as he'd like and watching a couple episodes of "The Dukes of Hazzard." We will definitely have to seek a pediatric dentist well-equipped with Nitrous for future appointments....but for now we are all healthy and happy.
More pictures to come, more than likely at a very slow pace seeing that this post took three days from inception to publication. Welcome to parenthood again!
Be well and stay in touch!

Hooray for the Orum 5! Towns is the perfect addition to your incredible family. January in Wisconsin is the perfect time to get cozy, cuddle, and get aquainted with a new baby. I am so proud of all of you guys, especially Sol and his pesky molar experience. He's already setting an example as a brave big brother. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThat Solomon is a truly brave boy! That is one honking big tooth. How dare it become infected just when Townes arrives! I don't think Townes will ever touch the ground with so many waiting in line to hold him. I can't wait for my turn.
ReplyDeleteGreat Foo
OH JJ! He's amazing. Love his name, love your family. Of five! That photo of you and your kids with the sunlight gives me goosebumps. Good job, mama. xoxo
