here and there in the month of August

The summer has gone by at such a nice pace this year. We have had time to really enjoy the fact that we truly did s-l-o-w...d-o-w-n...yet we have managed to do so many of the things that we had wanted to take advantage of this summer: visit local attractions like Wollersheim Winery and New Glarus Brewery, hike the beautiful trails in the area, enjoy many wonderful dinners on our patio, spend quality time catching up with friends and family, visit Farmer's Markets and roadside farm stands on a very frequent basis, swim at the pool, explore the back roads of Wisconsin, and most importantly, watch the kids grow to be better (best!) of friends and dream of how our family will soon have one more to share in all the fun with us. Cheers to a great summer and hooray for fall right around the corner....my utmost favorite time of the year!

The last month or so highlights:

A trip to Wollersheim Winery while Mimo and Nicco were in town for a visit

A real Wisconsin outing - Friday Night Fish Fry at the Oakcrest Tavern

A trip downtown for the big Farmer's Market can't be missed while visitors are here. (**Nick and Jess, these pics were taken in front of Graze...they had an outdoor stand set up with Magic Coffee and all the goodies that used to be seen at Cafe Soleil - THEY ARE STILL AVAILABLE!!)

Grilled Veggies a la Nick

Sol and some of his recent art

Mimo and Poppy catch up on reading together

I know one of the highlights of the summer for the kids was to have the dogs here at our house for a visit. They love them so, so, SO much and wish on a daily basis that they could be 'ours to keep.'

This series of pictures shows Poppy playing a game she is really good at: Memory. I keep a travel sized version in my purse for when we are out and need just a bit of extra entertainment. She always wins and is really cute during the process.

Our day trip to New Glarus Brewery...I think we may have discovered Greg's newest favorite spot to hang out.

One of our cherished nights of dinner on the deck in good company

A goodbye hug for the dogs

An evening walk in Pheasant Branch Conservancy

Just the kids and I take a day trip, while Papa was out of town for work, to Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison to celebrate the end of summer in style.
